UX at Apttus

During my time at Apttus, I was the sole user researcher and one of two designers. Due to our small team size, we outsourced many of our design needs to a vendor that I helped to manage.

One of the biggest impacts I made was identifying a customer process inefficiency through contextual inquiry. Initially Apttus Product leadership intended to make design changes based on feedback from our customer’s administrators, however I pushed to conduct research with end users to guarantee we understood the core issue at hand. Through observation, both onsite and virtual, I learned that end users were not utilizing one of our software’s largest features. This led to constant switching between tools and additional work. Once they began using the feature, they only needed to use a single tool which reduced their time on task and created a more efficient process.
